Fortunately and unfortunately I was present in both the meeting called by AIBOC and UFBU. AIBOC especially our GS , Mani maran ji and GS of Syndicate bank were firm in the demand for Wage hike as per the minimum wage formula and 3 days strike followed with 2 days holiday.
In UFBU meeting I was shocked many leaders were between 70 to 80 years they were unable to walk forget about talk. They didn't say a single word in 4 hours meeting.
It was very crucial meeting which will decide the fate of 10 lakh bankers. But I was shocked and sad to see 2 hours they passed their valuable time to discuss whether it is PLP or PLI with bade netaji deciding its correct and justifying it.
No where they discussed to fight for settlement hike as per minimum wage formula rather Convenor himself explaining it as IBA convenor. I doubt many union may sign at 15 % they are not thinking beyond the black box or beyond percentage game. One leader was bold enough abhi time hi kya hua hai even 24 months not passed.

Please give them inner strength and sense to think about the 10 lakh bankers and their family. They are so less paid and so much under stress.
I salute mr Saumya Dutta and Mr Ghosh who aggressively raised the points against 10 % hike , any negotiation and strongly against Bank merger.
Finally by any means 8 constituents agreed for 2 days strike against the proposed 3 days strike.
But the unity was broken when convenor himself told he is against going strike in the name of bank merger as in the his morning meeting of NCBE the members decided not to go on strike and he need minimum 15 days time to decide.
Rest is known to all , 4 Officers union went ahead with 2 days strike following indefinite strike in the month of November.
But it seems to me instead of fighting for members cause they will happily sign at 15 %.
