Young Bank officer found dead due to huge work load

Shibendra Singh was a young P.O. of Union Bank of India, a PSU Bank, posted at Sitapur, Gonda district.

He had to toil till 9 pm or more at the office. He was found dead at his flat at Bank colony falling victim to cardiac attack during sleep. PSU Bank officers r sandwiched between huge workload & unlimited accountability & not commensurate compensation. Many a Bank officers hv succumbed to hostile work environment & office -home imbalance. Many officers hv committed suicide in utter desparation. Govt is blind to d predicament of Bank officers/employees. Union leaders themselves being desk free, do not care for d traumas endured by their officer colleagues. It is high time that working hours of Bankers should be regulated with humane consideration. 5 days week like other Govt offices & RBI, NABARD, SEBI should be introduced in Banks to bring in work & home balance with a view to revitalize energy.
