Till date nearly 45% new 500 / 2000 Rupees notes have been distributed to Private Sector Banks and the remaining to Public Sector Banks. We all know 80% of bank accounts are handled by PSBs and due to shortage of new 500 / 2000 rupees notes in PSB, people have to visit and wait in the long queue for more than 2 hours to get either 2000 or 3000 per day. Staff of PSBs are under heavy stress and have to face the anger of public daily. Hence till 31/12/2016, whatever currency printed in 500 / 2000 denomination should be distributed ONLY to PSBs.
