UFBU Signals Indefinite Strike Over 5-Day Banking, PLI and Other Issues
UFBU is working on an agitation programme covering five-day banking, PLI and other pending issues. The proposed programme could include indefinite strike action and massive demonstrations, with the detailed schedule awaited.
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) is preparing an extensive agitation programme on key pending banking sector issues, including five-day banking, the Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and other residual issues.
According to information shared with Kanal, the proposed programme could include indefinite strike action along with massive demonstrations. The detailed programme is currently being worked out and is expected to be announced soon.
Speaking to Kanal after the UFBU meeting, Prem Makker, General Secretary, INBOC, said “We will have extensive strike action programmes including indefinite strike action on issues of 5 days, PLI and other residual issues.”
He further said, “Detailed programmes including massive demonstrations programme are being worked out and announced by tomorrow hopefully.”
