In a recent development, the Mumbai Police has confirmed the arrest of Vaibhav Pandya, stepbrother of renowned cricketers Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya. Vaibhav is accused of cheating his brothers by diverting approximately Rs 4.3 crore from their partnership firm, resulting in significant financial losses for both Hardik and Krunal.
The incident took place in 2021 when Vaibhav, along with the Pandya brothers, started a polymer business company. Hardik and Krunal held a 40% stake each, while Vaibhav had a 20% stake in the company. However, according to the allegations, Vaibhav illicitly increased his profit share from 20% to 33.3%, causing further financial harm to his brothers.
The profits from the company were meant to be divided equally among the three partners. Instead, Vaibhav allegedly created a separate company and transferred the profit amount, leading to a loss of around Rs 4.3 crore for the Pandya brothers.
Currently, both Hardik and Krunal are occupied with their Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments. Hardik is leading the Mumbai Indians, while Krunal has been performing well for the Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing 2024 season. Hardik recently recovered from an ankle injury sustained during the 2023 World Cup
