Sir,

On behalf of Bank Pensioner Activists, 

representing the aspirations of over 5 lakh Pensioners, we convey you our hearty congratulations and good wishes on your new assignment, as Chairman of  Indian Banks Association, a pioneer institution of Banking industry.

We do not expect you to be a rolling stones, rather we expect you to emerge as idol of Shankara. You have before you great challenge to guide the destiny of Banking, it's working and retired fraternity, while serving the cause of nation & people. All your predecessors did well according to time, but we expect from you something greater that leaves fine imprint in the Banking history.

Cause of sufferings of retired pensioners needs no emphasis, particularly when Hon'ble FM has spoken a lot about it. We need not to apprise you the plights and sufferings of pensioners, because of neglect of Banks and IBA, because are aware. We believe, if IBA would have worked sincerely, all these issues haven't crop up. Minimum Health security could have been ensured from Welfare Funds, which didn't happen, despite clear Govt advice. Hardly 20% retirees are insured at self-cost. Pension revision would have seen the light of day immediately after revision in RBI in March, 2019. Hon'ble FM would not have to speak in media, IBA executives, SBI Chairman, DFS Secretary or one to one to Banks Chiefs, while addressing IBA AGM on 10.11.2020.

Bank pensioners are in extreme despair & distress financially and health wise. They deserve immediate attention and relief. In health matter, please implement the letter of DFS dated 24.2.2012 and give minimum health cover to all from Welfare Funds. Pension revision, still under IBA consideration, may please be expedited, since it's an year end, since Hon'ble FM expressed her concerns.
