RBI today asked banks to put in business continuity measures to prevent any disruption of services, due to absenteeism either driven by the individual cases of infections or preventive measures
The Reserve Bank of India today asked banks to take measures and put in place business continuity plans to prevent any disruption of services due to coronavirus outbreak. "Several confirmed cases have also been detected in India, which highlight the need of a co-ordinated strategy for handling the emerging situations for protecting the resilience of the Indian financial system," RBI said in a statement.
The RBI asked banks to take these measures as part of their existing operational and business continuity plans, according to the central bank's statement released today:
1) Banks have been asked to devise strategy and monitoring mechanism concerning the spread of the disease within the organisation, making timely interventions for preventing further spread in case of detection of infected employees including travel plans and quarantine requirements.

In order to verify the strategy to keep continuity of banks service reserve bank governor should also take vigorous branch visit programme during banking hours. Simply giving advise will not serve the purpose.
It was expected from PM that at least once he would have recognised the contribution of Banking Fraternity more particularly PSU Banks who have made themselves available for every challenge thrown at them keeping aside their family and social obligations.
RBI and IBA while providing uninterrupted banking services should also take care of the Bank Employees'working conditions and the health hazardous which they are coming accross while discharging their duties.
bankers are asked to protect resilience of indian financial system but who will protect bankers from the possible hazard of the disease spread??? everybody talking about prevention of crowd and gathering but allowing all people to go to bank and make unnecessary overcrowding with all schemes including pmkishan kcc linkage and all rubish....
this statement of RBI is totally meaningless and such talks does not make any sense in context of the current corona pandemic. readers might be able to guess the correct term...
If banking services is so much important ,then why are bank employees given step motherly treatment regarding their pay ,salary ,compensation etc compared to the other govt. departments
A banker's life is full of risk. How could the govt. compare any othergovt.deptt. where the employees hardly work for six hours a day and are paid hefty amount of salary plus no risk factor. The govt. is taking the bank employees for granted. Will your govt. do something to motivate the young bankers or will you suppress their voice and let them to depression.
Just have a look at the rising no. of bankers suicide. When will you see our pain?
