We bankers regret that you will face difficulties while our banks will remain closed on strike days and Many believe that we are enjoying holidays by doing so. For many, we still don't work. Many think we sleep on money bed 😂 which i hope happens someday 🤣 . Many think our AC cabins are complete stress busters. Many think we dont have work burden at all. Many think when we close cash @ 4, we make a party thereafter. People belive we are the ones who enjoy their life to the fullest . People believe we have abundant staff to fulfill our duties. Above every other myths , people believe we are overpaid.
My contrymen , the last 2 days strike costs us our salaries. We are not being paid for those two days. So basically, we are protesting by spending our hard earned money. We dont protest on crowdfunding. The cash that we keep in our branches, are not ours, its completely yours. And you will never imagine what kind of enquires a banker faces when some incident happens . And the best part is while robbers come with guns , we in most branches guard your money with our ID cards in neck and pens/staplers in hands. The AC cabins that you look from outside is a very challenging cabin. The no of phone calls that we receive per day from multiple sections and customers surely exceeds 5times the temperature of the AC. Some aren't even provided a cooler. When we close our cash @ 4 or 3.30, every cashier has to pass a agni pariksha . If any shortage is found, He/She has to pay all no matter how huge the amount is. Bankers have to close their FDs they have saved for their daughter's marriage to balance the cash figures. And if excess is found, we wait for any of you who will come and claim. We return with honesty if we trace it our. So, the party we make after 4 , you will never like to come again. You think we enjoy life to the fullest ?? Staying away from your beloved ones, not even able to make a single call to them for days, begging literally begging for a day off to take kids/wife/parents to hospitals, and leave for a Friend's marriage is like asking for bmw from your middle class dad, and many more , is not a good life my friend. Forget about abundant staff, we dont have even have minimum required staff.
But we manage. We manage to reply to your queries each and every day. We roll up our sleeves , take a deep breath and walk into our office so that you don't have problem. We aren't like many other departments where you don't know about the table where your file is pending. And if you can, have a research on accountability. Probably and arguably, we bankers are most accountable. Bcos we have digitalised everything for your convenience. When you complaint to our regional offices or head offices, we instantly take upon your case. Your concern is ours till its resolved.
Every new yojnas started by the government is implemented by us whole heatedly. Demonetisation was just a picture of what we are capable of. We managed crores of you. When many of you dont pay your loan properly, your are requested to pay but we are pressed to recover. Sometimes the branch head pays from his own pocket just to ensure his NPA figures dont rise. Pity !
The houses you have made, The cars you have driven, the degrees you have got, the businesses you run, the personal needs you have achieved, we believe directly or indirectly , we have contributed by doing our job honestly. In spite of everything written its also true that we aren't perfect. Some of us surely need to be better. But we strive to be so. We know there is a long way to go.
Today we request for your support. We bankers are underpaid & we need your support.
