Union Bank on Saturday reported a 68 per cent decrease in its net profit to Rs 166.32 crore in the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 518.78 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Andhra Bank's net profit decreased 84.7 per cent at Rs 31 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2016 compared to Rs 203 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous financial year.

IFCI Ltd continued to be In the red reporting net loss of Rs 110.28 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016. This state-owned non banking finance company had reported a net profit of Rs 101.54 crore in the same quarter last year.

In more trouble for Vijay Mallya, a non-bailable warrant was today issued against him in a 2012 cheque bounce case by a Delhi court which said that coercive steps were required to ensure his appearance. Metropolitan Magistrate passed the order for bringing Mr Mallya in court on November 4, with the direction that the non-bailable warrant be sent to him by Ministry of External Affairs as he is reportedly in London.
