According to the complaint filed at Gardanibagh Police Station, the woman, who lives in Sipara, said she had visited the bank to complete some loan-related work. During her visit, one of the employees allegedly misbehaved with her. When she objected, the employee physically assaulted her.
After receiving the complaint, the police immediately reached the bank and took the accused employee into custody. Officers said that a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
In such cases, Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with outraging the modesty of a woman, and Section 323 (assault) are applicable. If the charges are proven, the accused can face two to five years in jail along with a fine.
