Decline of Employees in Public Sector Banks: Lok Sabha Reply

Today a question was raised in Lok Sabha regarding the decline of employees in Public Sector Banks. To this question, Shri Pankaj Chaudhary – the minister of state in the ministry of finance gave the following reply.

As per the reply, there are a total of 758608 employees in Public Sector Banks as on 01.01.2025. Out of this, 421584 are Officers, 248173 are Clerks and 88851 are Sub-staff.

The government has said that the appointment of officers and staff is done accordingly by the PSBs and it varies from year to year based on their requirements.
