At approximately 2 PM, a young man entered the office of branch manager Naveen Jain, where he remained for about half an hour. He presented a suicide note, claiming he was in debt for ₹40 lakh and threatened that if he didn’t receive the money, he would either kill the manager or himself. Under duress, the branch manager instructed cashier Rohit to bring ₹40 lakh to his office. The robber placed the cash into his bag and, while brandishing the pistols, forced both the branch manager and cashier to raise their hands, taking them hostage as he led them to the exit. Upon receiving news of the ₹40 lakh heist, SP Ramsevak Gautam and ASP Santosh Kumar Singh arrived at the scene with police from the city station, Adarsh Mandi police station, and a forensic team to investigate the incident. Bobby, a resident of Manna Majra who was responsible for transporting cash to the bank, recounted that he was drinking water behind the branch manager’s office when he turned around to see the robber aiming a pistol at the branch manager and cashier, who had their hands raised. Bobby attempted to confront the assailant, aiming his own gun at the robber, but the branch manager advised against shooting. The assailant then led the branch manager and cashier toward the exit, and Bobby followed. However, as they reached the door, the branch manager instructed Bobby to return inside the bank.
